Free Chipper Days 2026
Sponsored by Marin Wildfire Prevention Authority, free Chipper Days aid residents’ fire mitigation efforts by providing free curbside pickup, chipping, and disposal of hard vegetation material from residential properties, including those in Muir Beach!
Register here: https://reserve.chipperday.com/marin
Weeks of: April 20, May 25, July 6, August 24, September 28, November 2, 2026. Pickups occur on these weeks, Wednesday-Friday.
When choosing a date, please try to sign up for the next available date, if possible. According to the Chipper Days 2025 annual report, out of 18,700 cubic yards removed, Muir Beach comprised 2.8% of the total haul. That’s about the same as Mill Valley while Muir Beach is a much smaller community.
Thank you, Muir Beach residents, for keeping our community fire safe—and Firewise.
About Muir Beach Firewise
The Muir Beach Firewise Team is a community-led initiative focused on reducing wildfire risk rather than relying solely on fire departments. We are certified by Firewise USA®—a voluntary, national program managed by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recognizing communities that organize to reduce their wildfire risks. Our mission is to help residents work together to assess hazards, create defensible space, harden homes, and improve insurance options. The process requires an action plan and minimum yearly volunteer investments.
