One of Marin County’s most treasured events, our annual BBQ is a major source of funding for the department.

Often called “one of the last great hippie stomps,” it draws thousands every Memorial Day weekend for hours of music, dancing, great food, and the chance to reconnect with old friends.

Over the course of weeks, the old picnic grounds at the edge of Santos Meadow are transformed into a full-fledged fairground — complete with a bandshell, children’s rides, and massive amounts of barbecued chicken, crepes, beer, and wine.

It’s an extraordinary community effort, powered entirely by volunteers, and it’s the best place to pick up one-of-a-kind MBVFD clothing and accessories.
